When you are sick of the disorder & violence of the world—fear, say to yourself: Jesus died & arose again to save, & His salvation is already with us.

When dear loved ones are on their deathbed & the pain of parting seems unbearable, say,
“We shall see each other again in heaven.”

This is what it means to believe in the resurrection.
But there is more.

For Mother Teresa of Calcutta, it meant comforting the dying.
For Martin Luther King, it meant facing death to bring justice.
It means these things for us, too.

Every new missionary is an act of faith in the resurrection.
Every opening of a free clinic for the poor is an act of faith in the resurrection.

When you have the courage to marry,
when you welcome a newborn child,
when you build a home—
you believe in the resurrection.

When you awake with peace in the morning,
when you sing to the rising sun,
when you go to work with joy—
you believe in the resurrection.

Believing in the resurrection means filling life with faith.
It means believing in the value of your brothers & sisters.
It means fearlessness toward all.

Believing in the resurrection means knowing that
God is your Father,
Jesus is your Savior,
& the Holy Spirit is your Guide.
