Ezra 7 tells the story of how God worked through Artaxerxes,
King of Persia, and Ezra to do something powerful. Ezra, a
faithful teacher of God’s Word, was given permission,
resources, and authority to return to Jerusalem and help
restore worship and learning. This wasn’t just a political
move—it was a divine setup. God provided everything Ezra
needed because Ezra was walking in God’s purpose. It’s a
reminder that when people are aligned with God’s mission,
He opens doors and equips them for the journey.
That message is also very important today. Churches, like
Ezra’s mission, are entrusted with resources—money, time,
talents, and people—to carry out God’s work in our
community and the world. Church leaders, including councils
and committees, have the responsibility to use those gifts
wisely and faithfully. Whether it’s funding outreach,
supporting ministries, or maintaining spaces for worship and
fellowship, the goal is the same: to help people grow in faith
and live out God’s love in real ways.
Most importantly, the story isn’t just about leaders—it’s about
everyone. We all have something God has given us to use for
His purpose. Ezra didn’t work alone; he led with others, and
the people responded. That’s how the church thrives—when
everyone plays a part. Whether someone gives financially,
volunteers their time, or prays for the church’s mission, they’re
helping build something that lasts and matters.

Reflection: God is calling each of us to step up and be part
of His work. Everyone has a role to play. Whether through
giving, serving, or encouraging others, now is the time to lean
in, trust God’s plan, and help make the mission possible
